The temperature is dropping fast and it is time for some piping hot bowls of soup again. The New England area of the United States is known, and rightfully so, for it's chowders. Crab, fish, chicken or corn they are all beloved on a cold night to shake of the chill of that coastal air. Thick or thin, white or red there are variations galore. This lovely dish is from Maine and uses salt pork which isn't a very modern day ingredient. If you cannot find it simply sub out for bacon. This is a very hearty and rich chowder .
Note: Keto dieters can easily adapt this one, simply leave out the potato. Heavy cream can be used instead of light cream to up the fat count if needed.
