Was scanning through some old magazines clips and saw this advertisement... I had to look it up and found it's a well done fake .. lol kudos to the computer artist for a smoothly done fake and thank the lord it wasn't real because eeewwwww!

Moderate oven I would say is 350°.   I would think any preserve you have would be good though Plum and grape are mentioned here, I would be apt to go towards apple or peach myself.  Basic pie dough can be used. While digging through the recycling bin I found an old tattered book, the cover and most of the first section of the book are long gone.  It is a collection of recipes from families in the Virginia area it seems. The script is quite old fashioned and some of the type is odd to modern readers. The letter "s" looks somewhat like our modern "f".  If I ever see figs fresh and in good condition I am trying this one out! I have to say I had to adjust the color on this as well as the pages are yellowed and the ink discoloring enough to need some filtering to make it easier to read.  I have found quite a few interesting ones to share and if anyone recognizes them.. well let me know! Have you ever looked in the fridge and there are a bunch of leftovers but not enough to make a meal?  This tasty lasagna meets baklava styled dish takes care of just that.  Crusty and buttery the phyllo dough becomes the "noodle" of this layered dish. Left over meats, veggie and cheese fill the layers.  Now a delish lunch is on the table and my fridge is a little bit emptier! Win, win baby! Ingredients: Half a package of phyllo dough 1 stick butter melted This is pretty simple. Lay out phyllo dough and brush on melted butter, layer on another piece of phyllo and repeat. Each phyllo layer will do this 4 times. In between the phyllo layers do a layer of leftovers. I repeated this several times. The above dish has a layer of broccoli with cheddar cheese, a layer of chicken, a layer of cheddar cheese, a layer of spiral sliced ham and one more layer of cheddar cheese.  These layers can be any leftover you feel tastes good together.  A few of my other favorite combos I

My Mom made these sauces sometimes.  Usually from memory. I had not realized the recipes were from a cut out in a book we didn't have.
