Fruit Platter pie, tart, vintage recipe with savory note
We are used to our fruit tarts be very sweet with cream fillings that are full of sugars. This tart though has a savory bite to it to balance out that very sweetness making it a delicious way to serve a fruit dessert. The addition of cheddar cheese to the tart crust adds that touch of salt without being over bearing. The fruit can of course be placed and displayed in ant design you seem fitting though this lotus flower shape is quite appealing. Seasonal fruits can be used and a tart filled with apple and pear slices would also accompany this crust very nicely. Replace the orange sauce with an apple cider for a full flavored fall tart.
