Crystalized Apple, vintage recipe

This is a bit of a unique twist on apple desserts. They would make a lovely topper for an iced apple cake, pie or ice cream.  The process though simple can be a bit time consuming the first time until you get a knack for it.  Other fall favorites such as pears and quince are also beautiful when crystalized. I can see these adorning a fall wedding cake.....
