Sour Cream Drops, vintage cookie recipe
Like a ricotta cookie these sour cream cookies are on the denser side and moist. They have a very slight tang to them from the sour cream that just enhances the flavor in all the right ways.
These are cooked hot but as soon as the edges start getting brown they are better out of the oven then in. They may seem a little soft or under cooked but they aren't and they are much better this way they over cooked and dry. Though the recipe does not call for it a glaze does add something that is missing.
Glaze
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 tsp lemon or orange juice
A small amount at a time add the liquid to the sugar. The moisture of the day can make a difference in consistency so you may need more or less on any given day. It should be a very thick liquid close to white glue.
