Pineapple Jello in a can, Vintage Frugal Recipe
Innovation comes in to play for many reasons. If this one came about as a way not to have to buy a mold or for ease, I don't know. What I do know is this is an inexpensive dessert that would be fun to do with the kids.
The directions are quite easy. Simply open the can of pineapple rings and drain off the juice into a measuring cup. Add water to make up the difference of hot liquid needed to make the gelatin as per package directions. Pour hot liquid mix into the can and let cool. If you want a looser gel then add the cold liquid if not this will form a firmer texture gel.
Any flavor of gelatin could be used but I would bet a fruit punch would be yummy. I am also thinking this could be a lot of fun made in the style of a jello shot! Can you say Pina Colada in a can!
