What to do with that can of Spam, Fiesta Peach Spam Bake Recipe

Have you ever been given or purchased a can of Spam and then just wondered what to do with it? This peachy keen recipe uses the fruit to lighten up this sometimes heavy and salty canned meat.  Toted as a "Summer Feast for a Winter's Day" this was a magazine advertisement.

The recipe is much like a hassel back potato just with meat and peaches instead of potato and cheese. It is spiced much like a ham which to me causes a little confusion with the picture and name but, well who knows what the people making the ad in the 1950's were thinking.

9 Vintage Recipes That Are So Weird, You Won't Believe They Ever Actually Existed

One of the things about these advertisements are the little things in writing at the bottom. The bottom right corner caught my attention. With a little research I found that this was a radio show in the late 1940's through 1950's that ran for 5 years. It was a half hour program studded with extra commercials and many extra references to the Hormel company. It was stated that the show increased Hormel's sales in those 5 years by double.
