Introducing your new business.

The #1 mistake I see new Avon Ladies, or men, doing is not telling people they are now in business. This goes for all, and I mean all businesses. If people don't know you are the Avon rep, the new hot spot or place to eat no one will come to you!  There is a reason you see businesses having Grand Opening sales and just because you are a direct sales rep doesn't mean you cannot do the same thing.

There are a few ways to introduce yourself to the world and they do not take a lot of money. Do one or all... go for all! For each and everyone introduce yourself, your products and why you are selling them. People love a good story.

1. Have a Grand Opening on Facebook! It's easy and free to do. Just create an event and invite your entire friends list! Leave the option open for your guests to invite their friends and or share your event. Hold it for a few days and each day post a deal, code or freebie from your site. Share what your favorite products are and offer up catalogs tot hose who want one.

2. Host a grand opening party in your home, park, local restaurant.  Invite your friends with a guest and have some products on hand to show them and for them to sample. Have books, order sheets and samples on hand with light refreshments (yes wine is acceptable).  If you don't have any product or samples your upline or district managers can help you. (least with Avon they will)

3. Intro post cards. It's easy to print up post cards or have them printed. These can be sent to everyone in your address book. Offer up books and your online store. Post cards are cheaper to mail as well. The cards can also be handed to people you meet each and everyday.

4. Offer up a small discount ( I know this is tough when starting out) to anyone who refers a new customer to you. This works in two ways. 1. you get a new customer. 2. People are more likely to buy or spend more if they have a discount.

5. Yard sale set up. Set yourself up on your lawn or in your garage like you would a junk sale and let the whole neighbor hood you are there. Put signs on the street and let people come to you! Or if more comfortable do this at a local indoor sale.

It doesn't really matter how you get your business out there. The important thing is getting it to the public!

Looking to start your own business? Avon is one of the best out there which is why it has been going now for 130 years!
