A couple days ago I shared A Welsh rabbit recipe. Well many of those Welsh immigrants ended up in Wisconsin and this is their Americanized version of the tasty dish. Now this is basically what my mother did all my life with a little twist. She would cut the squash in half stem to tip and then bake them cut side down. Once cooked she would turn them over and put this glaze minus the water into each squash and let it melt down and serve half shell style, but no bacon...how could she not have BACON!  Also I am the child who insisted on maple sugar in mine while my cousin requested honey and butter. This quickly become our leftover sweet potato recipe.  Sweet potato casserole? No problem about a cup mashed up well and bam sweet desserty biscuits.  Super simple to make my 11 year old has become the master of the sweet potato biscuits on our home. They go wonderfully with hearty stews or soups as well as just plain with a bit of butter or honey.  We have used gluten free flour mixes as well and the texture is a little different but still a tasty biscuit, but we also add an egg to the mix to help it stay together as there is no gluten to do that job. There are not many orange recipes that are cooked or warm in the way this is. Yes often used as a flavoring the orange slices themselves are not often cooked. Nothing is better then earning some extra cash while just sitting around the house. I have been a stay at home Mom now for dare I say it out loud .. almost 20 years, there I said it. 20 years and I have done a lot of side things to make ends meet and to have some extra cash to do the fun stuff.  I love selling Avon .  I do well with it and I have come to love writing this blog that I am building up.
