Tiny treasure chest

I am a lover of old recipes. I love to find dusty books at flea markets and dig through the recycling book bin for tossed treasures.  One day a like minded friend and I found this little beauty. Inside was a treasure trove of recipes. Some hand written, some typed neatly, others torn from books and magazines. Names of folks long gone give hints to shared and beloved recipes passed from mother to daughter, relative or friend. We bought this little treasure and split it. I copied all the recipes I wanted and kept the tin and she took all the little cards and slips of paper that she cherishes and stores museum quality (she's much batter at this then me).  I admit I had forgotten about these treasures and it's been quite some time now since I looked at them. I remember wanting to post these on this blog back when I started it just about 2 years ago but life takes over, things become forgotten and lost. This morning I was making a list of all the goodies I plan to make for Thanksgiving tomorrow and out of the blue I remembered my thumb drive with all it's little golden nuggets of the past stored on it.  I pulled it out and started perusing the files and now I am going to start sharing. I will post once a day a long lost recipe, picture of them, if they are hard to read I will type them up as best I can. As I start to try some of them out I will post pictures of the finished products as well.  I hope those who enjoy this blog enjoy the past I bring forth in the shape of food!
