It's that time of year!!! Blueberries are in and we love to pick, eat, can and bake with them in this "Grandma's Attic Series" by Arleta Richardson ,  they are a wonderfully written set of books I enjoyed as a child and have shared with my kiddos.  Well reading these stories about Mable (main character) My chicken has realized that children then were expected to do more things, more mature things then now a days. Daily chores included cooking and cleaning for a 10 year old as well as what we now consider crafts for hobby.  The stories have inspired her to want to learn to bake, sew, quilt and crochet as well.  So after a delightful morning in the blueberry field we ventured to make a crumble. I will admit I hovered a bit, but kept to the side line while she did her thing and not only was it done it was done well.  The most important thing that happened was this little spike of confidence. That sense of accomplishment that everyone needs now and then....

So for all the Avon reps out there just trying to make some money while not spending a ton of it here's a little tip. ( I am sure this will work for other companies as well.)   Upcycle your sample boxes folks!  Keep one sample out of it and then fill the box with little goodies such as other samples, business cards, a flier etc.  Now you have a tiny little gift to give to people you meet. Say the girl at the drive through or cashier!  They take up very little space in your purse or car and people are delighted to get something little handed to them!       Does this look like the kind of job you can and want to do? I haven't been on here for a bit.  Sadly the reason was the loss of my mother.  Her sudden death left us all scrambling to figure out what just happened.  My sister and I did our best to weave our way through our loss, our Dad's loss and our families' loss all while keeping everything together.  What's left is a lifetime of things to sort through. Last night I found comfort and relief while looking through her massive collection of recipes with a close friend.  For a while I think I will be cooking through those folders. Some recipes will find their way here others will not.

Love Avon I get asked often if I make money selling Avon. Seriously, if I didn't make money I wouldn't be doing it, period.  Now I do have to work for it, nothing comes for free and this is a job. Yes, yes some people do it as a hobby, some as a full time job, most land some where in between. Making money with Avon is all about how much you put in to it. Second question I get a lot is "how do you make money with Avon?" This isn't as simple of an answer as there are several ways to make this work, as well as secondary forms of money "made" .    Everyone gets that this is a sales job, we go out and sell Avon products be they from catalogues, websites, events or fundraisers. That's the main job. That has been the main job for almost 130 years . Then there is leadership which you can chose to do, and I chose it.  So a rep builds a team of people who sell under her. Summer comfort The summer heat has hit! Do not let the heat stop you from being stylish. Hop on over to Avon and take a look at our summer clothing and accessories! With the knowledge that one of my darlings was allergic to eggs many of my recipes had to be made over or just plain old trashed. It didn't take me long to miss the mayonnaise laden salads of summer.  Most particularly chicken salad.  Cool and creamy on some nice crispy sour dough bread.. dang right?  So me, being me, I began to play around with flavors and ingredients until I came up with a salad we all enjoyed and in reality has become a household favorite. Now I use as much fresh foods as I can but if you are in need of using canned chicken go for it. No one is judging you!  Now these are basically the measurements I use. Since I use a whole chicken and the weights vary I do add or subtract a bit by taste also important to keep in mind if you buy the chicken they can be salty and may not need more seasoning. Also I use a firmer, thick yogurt for this.  If you have a softer yogurt you can put a coffee filter in a strainer and pour out yogurt into it, let ...
