The power of the Pout!

The power of the Pout! Although the eyes may be the portal to the soul the lips have the power to control a situation. We use our lips to portray almost everyone of our emotions, our intentions and our ability to be kind.  The first thing instinctually noticed is a person's mouth to determine if they are friendly with a welcoming smile or hostile with a harsh grimace. Is there a sad frown or bratty pout, or maybe a nervous lip nip. We watch the mouths of people to determine our reactions.

The colors we wear, glossy, matte or sparkly can all enhance the image a person wants to give out.  Hollywood has perfected the use of this make up staple to visually enhance it's characters from the various shades of grey in the old black and whites to the hot reds of today's sexy vixens!

Red, and I mean RED shades are the color of independence and bold confidence. Red says "I am here and you will acknowledge it".  When producers want to portray strong, powerful women,  with a bit of a saucy sex appeal in movies you will almost always see them with bold crimson shades.

Soft pinks and neutrals give off that more natural glow of the down to earth, calm and sweet. Pretty but not in need of attention, cool calm and collected, basically the girl next door. Those who wear them are believed to be sweet and perfectly dependable.

Bold "Barbie" pinks just scream party girl! These ladies are girly and fun and looking to get out there to have some good ole college type party fun. Often not taken serious these colors tend to adorn the younger 20 somethings for a reason. The lighter bubble gum pinks worn by the pre-teen and high school crowd is considered innocent and fun for young ladies who aren't mature enough for "grown up" colors.

Browns scream secure and bold but not in your face. They compare to the reds without the need for attention. They control the situation behind the scenes but do not need to be the star of the show. They are the solid foundations of the business world or any world they live in.

Plums and Mauves give the wild side a high five. Known to be fun, they show off the wearer's ability to have a little fun in any situation and give the establishment's basic colors the heave ho for a little bit a daring adventure! I would also put any blue, green, yellow and neons in this category though those really aren't to be taken seriously and are really just for fun.

Corals and Salmons are for those who want to be more fun then the everyday pinks and neutrals but aren't quite as flamboyant as the plums.

Then there are the Gothic darks of any shade right up to black. The anti social, "fear me" crowd love the fierceness these shades give them. Folks who wear these shades often want to be unapproachable and mysterious, they accomplish the task fairly well.

Past the colors comes the matte or gloss, flat or sparkle debates.

Mattes are serious and ready to work.

Glossy is simply sexy while not over bearing.

Flat is dependable and trust worthy.

Sparkle is fun and sassy but in an innocent way.
