Direct sales recruiting

Recruiting is one of the most profitable ways of making money with direct sales. Most companies give bonuses for each recruit as well as a percentage of their sales to the recruiter.  Companies have different requirements and pay outs of coarse. Some want you to be a manager of a team while others are much more lax and just have recruiting. As with all direct sales what you put into it is what you get. If you work with your downline, or the people you have recruited, you'll make more money from their success if you do not, well then the money just isn't as good.

First thing to do is to read up on the company you are with and what the requirements are, how much is the pay out, what bonuses there are and what exactly are you expected to do.  Then from this info you make a game plan and goal chart. How many people do you need to start making money. Who, what, when and where you will recruit. How often you will do this. Making a calendar and spread sheet for who you have met and what they said. These are important to keeping track of what you are now doing.

Once all that is done it is time to start recruiting. There are several ways to recruit. First you can get leads from your company or upline. These are usually people who have filled out info either at an event or online asking for more info about selling said company. I know this sounds like a great place to get people because they all filled out for it right? Well yes and no. You will find people who really are looking to make money but you will also find people who filled out the forms thinking they were other forms, people who did so when desperate for money, drunk or dared to, as well as those filling out for more info to earn points on websites that payout for advertising.  I do not say this to discourage the use of these leads but to let you know not to get upset when a list of 20 people only turns up 1 or 2 legit leads.

The second option is to go out and talk to people. This is really where the work is, but it is also where you will get people. There is nothing as compelling as face to face.  At one time door to door was a viable option though I know in my town it is banned. Some towns require permits. This is something you can call your local court house and ask. That doesn't mean you can't get out there. Wear pins that let people know you are looking to recruit. Let word of mouth from your customers get around as well as telling people when you are working events. It can be as simple as working it into a conversation while on line at the store.

The next good option is advertising!!! There is a reason we have commercials.  Utilize social media, newspapers, online job lists anything you can put an add in like recital and graduation programs.  Use your blog, wink, wink!  People need to know you are looking for recruits or team members. If you get it out there, people will come your way.  Advertising also means, in my world, labels.  Every book I put out there has a recruiting label.  Every flier, business card and post card have it mentioned some where.

The biggest discouragement while recruiting is numbers.  In truth you will speak to hundreds of people and only get a handful of recruits. Some may float your way, others may be referred to you by acquaintances but mostly it's up to you and the reality is that out of 20 people only 1 may actually be interested.  That's ok. we live in a world with a few billion people in it, there are more out there!

Now my shameless plugs! Below are links to my and my family's direct sales companies. We all sell and recruit. We also have no problem helping others get going no matter where in the states they are. Feel free to ask any questions on any company!

Avon- This company has been around for almost 130 years. Both women and men sell it though it is based off women. We carry the quintessential Avon perfumes and beauty items of coarse as well as jewelry for men and women, fashion from clothing to accessories, home goods and kids things. Good percentages, free website and awesome incentives and affordable to start just $15

Jerky Direct- This was really a jump on to buy the Jerky at a lower price for our family but I can't just let it sit there! It's simply delicious jerky from beef to turkey as well as yummy fruit snacks and even some doggy treats! Nice percentages and free website as well affordable to start. $15 to get going but there is an auto ship that comes once a month to you. It is a pack of the Jerky your choice.

Jewelry in Candles- This is my oldest's business. The lovely scented soy candles burn nice and clean and in each candle there is jewelry of your choice ranging from earrings and necklaces to rings for both men and women. There are also tarts and special promo items with extra gifts. Decent percentages, good discounts and free website. Start up kits start at $30 and go up I suggest the second kit it is $70 but the samples are what sell candles.

Lilla Rose- This is a company also run by one of my kids. They have these awesome hair accessories from clips and bobby pins to head bands. Also a very nice selection of badge clips perfect for teachers and nurses who want to jazz up their work gear. Kit's start at $50 and come with enough products to make it worth that cost. Nice earnings, free website very nice product.
