From the looks of this slip of paper found in the underside of a book cover at the library, (you find the oddest things in the free to trade books) this was a much used recipe. Now Beets are a love them or hate them root veggie based off of my experience.  I am of two minds to try this. 1. Total curiosity. 2. Only two of us like beets and I don't do sugar...... Naturally gluten free I have to admit I am finding many recipes in these old books that do not need wheat flour. This leads me to realize that the need for wheat based products was not always so very strong in our society.  I have also found that the recipes are simpler and often tastier.  This one with a little butter... right?
