Makeup and The Tomboy

Every once in a while you meet a real hero. That day came for me 20+ years ago when I met this man. Mr. George "Red " Ellis.  This gentleman is a World War II vet. He was  P.O.W. multiple times, captured by the Nazi  army and held in a concentration camp. He came home to his sweet heart who he has been married to for near 70 years (this is hero making in this time and age as well) and raised two children. His brood increased with 5 grandchildren, (one of whom I married, yup I get to call this hero grandpop) who increased the family even more with a staggering 18 great grandchildren!  To this day George and his wife Doris are active, loving people who we all love and are so very proud of. Everyone who meets George knows they have met "someone".  So much so that at last night Devil's (hockey) game they not only honored him he received a stadium sized standing ovation!  Grandpop your such a rock star!
